how gujrati in india are rich

I think pro-business mentality comes to Gujaratis from way long before even Europians or Mughals invaded India. One reason for that is its geographical presence,it is a state of a shape in peninsula over Arabian ocean which has largest coast in India and had shortest sea route to Arab countries, Africa and Europe. The trade between India and other mentioned had been in existence over a long long time, until Mughal countries started war in arabian sea against Europians. Thats why they had to find a new way to India (It is also an unverified story of Vasco d' gama meeting a Gujarati trader 'kanha' in Africa and followed him to India.) Back in time there might be huge population of traders who did business with other countries through arabian sea from Gujarat that have created huge business minded population and grew sense of trading. (Don't believe me? Notice the power of a Gujarati to bargain price in the market next time.)

Now according to India's caste based system, where a traders' son takes care of his father's business, this trades grew and divided.

Now assume Mahatma Gandhi went to study and practice law in Africa around 1890s where there were already huge population of Gujaratis in South Africa and was a popular destination.

Gujaratis spend sparingly, they don't believe in flaunting their wealth (Yes, you won't even know your Gujju neighbor might be a billionaire). The reason is Gujarat is very hot & dry land, most of the land is salty and barren, it has witnessed many droughts in past, so key is in saving your resources that they know very well.

They are very social, you'll mostly find a gujju guy funny and talkative that is again a key they know lot of people.. lot of contacts (Yes!! Narendra Modi might be in their 6 degrees of separation) which helps them grow their business.
First of all, it is not a myth. Gujaratis have high business sense, though they equally suck at studies.

I am a Gujarati, and as it so happens, I was the only one who cared about studies in my whole town ! What were the others thinking ? They had no plans ! Because for some reason they knew that they would survive, or may live even happier.

You see, unlike other states, where students typically keep studying the hopes of getting into a good college and then a ideal job, students here live a happy life. They roam around here and there, hang out with friends, thus attaining the so called practical values of life. Talk you Gujarati and you will see the difference.

A Gujarati would not invest 10 lakhs on a engineering college to a get a 3 lakh job. He would instead take a Visa, go to the US, earn something and come back ! Really, it is that simple. People here simply have more awareness and more  common sense than the rest of India who are basically busy running in a rat race until college.

Even a dumb person knows the words share market and stock prices. People play poker/cards. They like taking their chances.

Go to IIMA and surprisingly, you will hardly find a Gujarati student. Now go to Dalal Street, you can't possibly NOT find a Gujarati. The point being, we value practical lessons more than theoretical study.

The Economy is also good, because Gujaratis spend a lot, and partly due to the cash inflows from relatives abroad. Thus lets say even if you want to open a simple soda shop, you can expect some customers. People are willing to spend.

They also save a lot. Transport is cheap. Other facilities are all nearby. There is a healthy competition, hence prices are in check. I met this guy on train, he shifted from Delhi to Kheda, Gujarat. We start discussing things and he says, "Yaar yaha koi kharcha he nai hai, sara paisa jeb me!"

Also, we don't have our entire businesses concentrated in a single metro city. Instead, we have 4 major cities - Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot, Vadodara. So I can go to the nearest one and carry out business without much competition.

Last but not the least, we have been in business for centuries and many families have big networks. This matters a lot in business. A recommendation and you are in.
Now in order to become entrepreneurial – we gotta work in a team – this team-building capability is where we fail badly – very badly indeed – because everyone will give their ‘2 cents’ and the idea eventually fails to take shape!

So eventually and grudgingly too – we take up jobs – giving ourselves a kind of ‘condolence self counselling’ – that we are mighty huge personalities but nevertheless we are ‘very happy with very little’ (alpa santusht)  – and live the rest of our lives nurturing that illusion about ourselves!

Bill Gates: "Thank you for coming. Those who do not know JAVA may leave." 2000 people left the room. Kantibhai says to himself, "I do not know JAVA but I have nothing to lose if I stay. I'll give it a try."
Bill Gates: "Candidates that have never had experience of managing more than 100 people may leave." 2000 People left the room. Kantibhai says to himself So he"I never managed anybody by myself but I have nothing to lose if I stay. What can happen to me?" So he stays.

 Bill Gates: "Candidates who do not have management diplomas may leave." 500 people left the room. Kantibhai says to himself,"I left school at 15 but what have I got to lose?" So he stays in the room. Lastly, Bill Gates asked the candidates who do not speak Serbo - Croat to leave. 498 people left the room. Kantibhai says to himself, " I do not speak one word of Serbo – Croat but what do I have to lose?" So he stays and finds himself with one other candidate.
 Everyone else has gone. Bill Gates joined them and said: "Apparently you are the only two candidates who speak Serbo - Croat, so I'd now like to hear you have a conversation together in that language." Calmly, Kantibhai turns to the other candidate and says: "Kem chho?" The other candidate answers: " Ekdum majama !!! ”

Password Cracker Software

A password cracker software, which is often referred to as a password recovery tool, can be used to crack or recover the password either by removing the original password, after bypassing the data encryption, or by outright discovery of the password. In the process of password cracking, a very common methodology used to crack the user password is to repeatedly make guesses for the probable password and perhaps finally hitting on the correct one. It cannot be denied that whenever we are referring to cyber security, passwords are the most vulnerable security links. On the other hand if the password is too completed, the user might forget it. Password Cracker software are often used by the hackers to crack the password and access a system to manipulate it.

In the next section you would be getting familiar with some of the popular Password Cracker tools which are used by hackers for password cracking.

Ophcrack

It is a free password cracker software which is based on the effective implementation of the rainbow tables. It runs on a number of Operating Systems like Mac OS X, Unix/Linux and Windows Operating System. It is equipped with real-time graphs for analyzing the passwords and is an open source software. Ophcrack has the capability to crack both NTLM hashes as well as LM hashes.

It is also widely used in Penetration testing to ensure that the vulnerability of the system can be exposed and appropriate security measures can be taken against hacking.

RainbowCrack

Rainbow Crack as the name suggests, is a cracker for hashes with the Rainbow Tables. It runs on multiple operating systems such as Linux, Windows Vista, Windows XP (Windows Operating Systems). It supports both Graphical User Interface as well as Command line Interface. It's software which is used for password cracking by generating rainbow tables, fuzzing all the parameters.

Wfuzz

Wfuzz is a flexible tool for brute forcing Internet based applications. It supports many features like Multithreading, Header brute forcing, Recursion when discovering directories, Cookies, Proxy Support, hiding results and encoding the URLs to name a few. Wfuzz is a useful tool for finding unlinked resources like scripts, directories and servlets as well.

Brutus

Brutus is one of the most flexible and free password crackers which operates remotely. It is popular also because of its high speed and operates under operating systems such as Windows 2000, Windows NT and Windows 9x. Currently it does not operate under the UNIX operating system. Brutus was initially designed to check network devices like routers for common as well as default passwords.

L0phtCrack

L0phtCrack which is now known as L0phtCrack6, is a tool which tests the strength of a password given, as well as to recover lost passwords on Microsoft Windows platform. Thus it is a tool for both password recovery as well as auditing the password. It uses techniques such as Rainbow tables, brute-force and dictionary to recover passwords.

Fgdump

Fgdump is a powerful cracking tool. In fact, it's much more powerful than pwdump6 as the latter has the tendency to hang whenever there is a presence of an antivirus. Fgdump has the capability to handle this problem of hanging by shutting down first. It later restarts the Antivirus software. It supports multi threading which is very relevant in the multitasking and multi-user environment.

THC Hydra

Every password security study has revealed that the biggest security weaknesses are the passwords. THC Hydra is a tool for cracking logins and it is flexible as it supports various protocols. It is very fast and at the same time, new modules can be easily added. Hydra can run on operating systems like Solaris 11, OSX, Windows and Linux.

Cain And Abel

Cain and Abel, often referred to as Cain, is a tool for recovering the password in the Windows platform. It has the capability to recover various kinds of passwords using techniques such as cracking the password hashes by using brute-forcing, dictionary attacks, cryptanalysis attacks and packet sniffing in the network.

IKECrack

The objective of this security tool is to locate the valid user identities in a Virtual Public Network along with the secret key combinations. Once this is accomplished, this information can be used easily by a hacker to have access to a VPN in an unauthorized manner

Wireless Hacking Tools

Wireless Hacking Tools are those hacking tools which are used to hack into a wireless network which is usually more susceptible to security threats. One must also ensure that the network is completely secured against hacking or other malwares. The list of wireless hacking tools which would be discussed now can be used to do a Penetration Testing for a Wireless Network. This is an intentional attack on a network to detect security vulnerabilities by accessing its data and functionality.

Aircrack-ng

It is a software suit specially designed for a wireless network and which operates under both the Windows and the Linux Operating System. Aircrack-ng consists of a packet sniffer, WPA cracker and analysis tool and a detector for the wireless Local Area Networks (802.11). The best part of this software suit is one need not install it to use it. It is a collection of files which can be easily used with a command prompt.

There have been many wireless hacking tools exposed in recent past. When a hacker hacks a wireless network, it is supposed to defeat the Wireless network’s security devices. The Wi-Fi networks i.e. the Wireless LANs are more exposed to the security threats from a hacker while compared to that of a wired network. While hackers are always more than ready to hack specially if there are weaknesses in a computer network, hacking is often a tedious and complicated procedure.

The latest code should have all you need to run aircrack-ng on windows. But you may need to download the following files: cygwin1.dll, Peek.dll, Peek5.sys and msvcr70.dll These you could get from anyone of the following locations dll-files. Also you can get the files here:

Unzip your download of aircrack-ng codes to C:\aircrack-ng-[1x]. And then Download cygwin1.dll, Peek.dll, Peek5.sys and msvcr70.dll from the links above; unzip and copy them to the folder C:\aircrack-ng-[1x]\bin The aircrack-ng for windows install is done.
To run aircrack-ng Go to C:\aircrack-ng-[1x]\bin and double click on aircrack-ng GUI

Encryption Tools

Times are changing and spying has become a common phenomenon everywhere. There have been increasing instances where even the governments have been found to be spying on their citizens from time to time. This is one of the prime reasons why the importance of Encryption has increased manifold. Encryption tools are very important because they keep the data safe by encrypting it so that even if someone accesses the data, they can’t get through the data unless they know how to decrypt the data. These tools use algorithm schemes to encode the data to prevent unauthorized access to the encrypted data.

Some of the popular Encryption Tools will be discussed in this article:-

TrueCrypt

TrueCrypt is open source encryption tool which can encrypt a partition in the Windows environment (except Windows 8); it’s equipped for creating a virtual encrypted disk in a file. Moreover, it has the capability to encrypt the complete storage device. TrueCrypt can run on different operating systems like Linux, Microsoft Windows and OSX. TrueCrypt stores the encryption keys in the RAM of the computer.

OpenSSH

OpenSSH is the short name for Open Secure Shell and is a free software suite which is used to make your network connections secured. It uses the SSH protocol to provide encrypted communication sessions in a computer network. It was designed originally as an alternative to the Secure Shell Software developed by SSH Communications Security. The tool was designed as a part of the OpenBSD project.

PuTTY

It an open source encryption tool available on both UNIX and Windows operating system. It is a free implementation of SSH (Secure Shell) and Telnet for both Windows as well as UNIX. The beauty of this tool is that it supports many network protocols like Telnet, SCP, rlogin, SSH and raw socket connection. The word PuTTY has no specific meaning, however as in UNIX tradition, tty is a terminal name.

OpenSSL

OpenSSL is an open source encryption tool which implements the TLS and SSL protocols. OpenSSL’s core library is written in the C programming language. The fundamental cryptographic functions are implemented by it. OpenSSL versions are available for operating systems like UNIX, Solaris, Linux and Mac OS X. The project was undertaken in 1988 with the objective of inventing free encryption tools for the programs being used on the internet.

Tor

Tor is a free encryption tool and has the capability to provide online anonymity as well as censorship resistance. Internal traffic is directed through a free network which consists of more than five thousand relays so that the user’s actual location can be hidden. It is difficult to track the Internet activities like visiting web sites and instant messages; the most important goal of this tool is to ensure the personal privacy of the users.

OpenVPN

It is an open source tool for the implementation of virtual private network techniques so that secured site-to-site or point-to-point connections using routers or bridges are possible, also remote access is possible. OpenVPN offers the users a secured authentication process by using secret keys which are pre-shared.

Stunnel

Stunnel is a multi-platform open source tool which is used to ensure that both the clients and the servers get secured encrypted connections. This encryption software can operate on a number of operating system platforms like Windows as well as all operating systems which are UNIX like. Stunnel depends upon a distinct library like SSLeay or OpenSSL to implement the protocols (SSL or TLS)

KeePass

KeePass is an open source as well as free password management tool for the Microsoft Windows as well as unofficial ports for operating systems such as iOS, Linux, Android, Mac OS X and Windows Phone. All the usernames, passwords and all other fields are stored by KeePass in a secured encrypted database. This database in turn is protected by a single password.

Intrusion Detection System And The IDS Tools

An Intrusion Detection System is a software application or a device which is equipped to do network or system monitoring activities for any malicious threats and sends reports to the management station. Intrusion detection tools can help in identifying potential threats which can be dangerous for the system or the network.

NetCop

NetCop is an advanced intrusion detection system which is available practically everywhere. NetCop makes use of a specific method to classify the spyware. This is because there are several software programs which intrude your privacy and which have different kind of capabilities. NetCop gives a distinct threat level to each program, thus classifying the threats.

Hacking Vulnerability Exploitation Tools

A tool which identifies whether a remote host is vulnerable to a security attack and tries to protect the host by providing a shell or other function remotely, is called a Vulnerability Exploitation tool. Here is a list of some o the popular ones:

Metasploit

Metasploit was released in the year 2004 and it was an instant hit in the world of computer security. Metasploit provides data on the vulnerabilities in the security system and it helps in conducting penetration testing too.

It is a penetration testing tool which is available as an open source. Its goal is to automate the detection and exploitation process of the injection flaws in SQL and to take over the database servers.

Sqlninja

The main objective of this tool is to access a vulnerable DB server; it's used for pen testing so that the procedure of controlling a DB server can be automated when the vulnerability of an SQL injection has been tracked.

Social Engineer Toolkit

This tool kit also known as SET, was designed by TrustedSec. The tool comes as an open source code and is Python driven. It is used for conducting Penetration Testing around Social Engineer.

NetSparker

It is a web based security scanner which has an exploitation engine to confirm the security vulnerabilities and makes the user concentrate on elimination of security threats with its False-Positive free feature.

BeEF

BeEF is the short term for The Browser Exploitation Framework. It is a tool for penetration testing which concentrates on a web browser and thus accesses the actual security position of the environment it’s targeting.

Dradis

Dradis stands for Direction, Range and Distance. It is an open source vulnerability scanner or application which provides the facility of information sharing effectively, especially during assessing the security of the system in a central repository.

Vulnerability Scanners

The scanners which assess the vulnerability of a network or a computer to security attacks are known as Vulnerability Scanners. The tools might function differently, however all of them aim to provide an analysis on how vulnerable the system or a network is. Here is a list of the best ones:

Nessus

Nessus is the world’s most popular vulnerable scanner topping the list in the years 2000, 2003 and in the year 2006 survey on security tools. It's a free to use vulnerability scanner for personal use in the non enterprise environment.

 Def of big oh This is where Big O analysis helps – it gives us some basis for measuring the efficiency of an algorithm. A more detailed explanation and definition of Big O analysis would be this: it measures the efficiency of an algorithm based on the time it takes for the algorithm to run as a function of the input size. Think of the input simply as what goes into a function – whether it be an array of numbers, a linked list, etc.

Big O Analysis

Big O Notation

Big O notation is used in Computer Science to describe the performance or complexity of an algorithm. Big O specifically describes the worst-case scenario, and can be used to describe the execution time required or the space used (e.g. in memory or on disk) by an algorithm.
Anyone who’s read Programming Pearls or any other Computer Science books and doesn’t have a grounding in Mathematics will have hit a wall when they reached chapters that mention O(N log N) or other seemingly crazy syntax. Hopefully this article will help you gain an understanding of the basics of Big O and Logarithms.
As a programmer first and a mathematician second (or maybe third or fourth) I found the best way to understand Big O thoroughly was to produce some examples in code. So, below are some common orders of growth along with descriptions and examples where possible.

O(1)

O(1) describes an algorithm that will always execute in the same time (or space) regardless of the size of the input data set.
bool IsFirstElementNull(String[] strings)
{
 if(strings[0] == null)
 {
  return true;
 }
 return false;
}

O(N)

O(N) describes an algorithm whose performance will grow linearly and in direct proportion to the size of the input data set. The example below also demonstrates how Big O favours the worst-case performance scenario; a matching string could be found during any iteration of the for loop and the function would return early, but Big O notation will always assume the upper limit where the algorithm will perform the maximum number of iterations.
bool ContainsValue(String[] strings, String value)
{
 for(int i = 0; i < strings.Length; i++)
 {
  if(strings[i] == value)
  {
   return true;
  }
 }
 return false;
}

O(N2)

O(N2) represents an algorithm whose performance is directly proportional to the square of the size of the input data set. This is common with algorithms that involve nested iterations over the data set. Deeper nested iterations will result in O(N3), O(N4) etc.
bool ContainsDuplicates(String[] strings)
{
 for(int i = 0; i < strings.Length; i++)
 {
  for(int j = 0; j < strings.Length; j++)
  {
   if(i == j) // Don't compare with self
   {
    continue;
   }

   if(strings[i] == strings[j])
   {
    return true;
   }
  }
 }
 return false;
}

O(2N)

O(2N) denotes an algorithm whose growth will double with each additional element in the input data set. The execution time of an O(2N) function will quickly become very large.

Logarithms

Logarithms are slightly trickier to explain so I’ll use a common example:
Binary search is a technique used to search sorted data sets. It works by selecting the middle element of the data set, essentially the median, and compares it against a target value. If the values match it will return success. If the target value is higher than the value of the probe element it will take the upper half of the data set and perform the same operation against it. Likewise, if the target value is lower than the value of the probe element it will perform the operation against the lower half. It will continue to halve the data set with each iteration until the value has been found or until it can no longer split the data set.
This type of algorithm is described as O(log N). The iterative halving of data sets described in the binary search example produces a growth curve that peaks at the beginning and slowly flattens out as the size of the data sets increase e.g. an input data set containing 10 items takes one second to complete, a data set containing 100 items takes two seconds, and a data set containing 1000 items will take three seconds. Doubling the size of the input data set has little effect on its growth as after a single iteration of the algorithm the data set will be halved and therefore on a par with an input data set half the size. This makes algorithms like binary search extremely efficient when dealing with large data sets.

Know Thy Complexities!

Hi there!  This webpage covers the space and time Big-O complexities of common algorithms used in Computer Science.  When preparing for technical interviews in the past, I found myself spending hours crawling the internet putting together the best, average, and worst case complexities for search and sorting algorithms so that I wouldn't be stumped when asked about them.  Over the last few years, I've interviewed at several Silicon Valley startups, and also some bigger companies, like Yahoo, eBay, LinkedIn, and Google, and each time that I prepared for an interview, I thought to myself "Why oh why hasn't someone created a nice Big-O cheat sheet?".  So, to save all of you fine folks a ton of time, I went ahead and created one.  Enjoy!

20 Business Lessons You Don't Want To Learn The Hard Way

 “Get a finance person by your side because you absolutely need to know your numbers.”
  1. You can’t do everything on your own. Building a team is essential because there are only so many hours one person can devote to a business. Exactly when you reach that limit depends on your other obligations. If you’re a young single person, you might be able to do everything for a year or two. But if you have a family, your dedication will eventually hurt those relationships. Build a team that can carry on when you’re not around.
  2. You may think your product is perfect, but your clients won’t. Listen to user feedback: Your opinion may not be the best one. The key takeaway here is “release your product early and release it often.” You won’t know if you have a great product until it’s in the field and users are beating it up. It’s like some of the contestants on American Idol. They think they’re talented, and their friends and family think so, too, but when they get on a bigger stage, their flaws become obvious.
  3. Do one thing really well. Entrepreneurs try to be everything to everyone, but it’s hard to be the store that sells bait and baby toys and vintage Beatles albums. Specialize, and you can charge for what you do provide. That said, if there is a skill or service that would make your core product better, provide it.
  4. Get paid before you hand over a project to a client. This is especially important if you provide a service. Once you turn over that contract or website or design project, you won’t have much bargaining power. When I was a graphic designer, I watermarked all my projects and hosted websites on a private domain until the bill was paid.
  5. Undercharging is not sustainable. You think, “I don’t need to charge $150 an hour, I can charge $70 and make way more than I was making as an employee!” But you might find out a short time later that your “great” rate is unsustainable. By the time you pay taxes, employees, business licenses, insurance, etc., that $150/hour is looking more realistic. Compete on quality, expertise and your niche focus (see #3) instead of price. When competing on price alone, the clients who are price-shopping will always leave for the person or company that undercuts you.
  6. Patience and flexibility help you survive the lean times. ShortStack started out as a side project at my web and graphic design studio. We weren’t a software development studio, but when a client asked us for a software product, we didn’t say no. We were patient, scaled slowly — partly out of necessity — and it allowed me to build with company without debt.
  7. Build for your actual market. All of my software-building experience so far has been in answer to a demand. It is purely opportunistic. If you’re an app developer and you think “Wow, I think xx industry could use xx,” you might be disappointed. Put another way: I would never start a restaurant without having worked in one…for a long time!
  8. Never enter a partnership without a buy/sell agreement. No matter how well you think you know someone, you just don’t know when he or she will want to retire or do something else. Even if it’s on amicable terms, know how you can get rid of one another when it’s time for one of you to move on.
  9. Be grateful. Appreciate loyal customers who show you there is a demand for what you do. There is no dollar amount you can put on brand advocates. Good will translates to loyal customers.
  10. Look after those who look after you. We offer referral commissions at ShortStack, but it’s very much under the radar. We want people to recommend the product because they like it, not because they’ll say anything for a dollar. If we notice someone said nice things about us publicly, we might send them a t-shirt as a thank you. If they do it again and again, we might say, “Hey, you should become a referrer and earn a percentage of the business you send our way.”
  11. It’s not a sale until it’s paid for. This sounds obvious, but I’ve known small business owners who get very excited about orders and/or meetings with prospective clients. But until the money for those products or services is in the bank, it doesn’t count.
  12. You’ll make more money being “wrong” than proving you are right. Rather than fight with an unhappy customer and say, “You’re using it incorrectly,” or “You don’t know enough CSS to use our product,” we just refund their money. In the long run, these people consume so much of the support team’s time and energy that it’s more cost effective this way. They’re not our ideal client, and that’s OK.
  13. People don’t leave companies — they leave management. This lesson goes for both employees and customers. A manager will lose staff if the employees think they’re not being listened to or valued. Customers will stop using your products or services if they are dissatisfied with them. The quality and reliability of your products and services is a reflection of management.
  14. The way you present your business should be a reflection of your audience. If you have serious clients, be serious. If you have hip, fun-loving clients, have a sense of humor. You have to find your niche and build your content to suit them. For example, Constant Contact CTCT -1.23% and MailChimp do essentially the same thing, but their marketing content reflects very different client bases.
  15. Agree on scope in advance. Have a clear contract before work begins. Once a project goes beyond the documented plan, charge for it. If you agreed to build a website with 10 pages, but soon the site is 20 pages, the client should pay you for them. If your contract makes that clear at the outset, it is easier to control scope creep.
  16. If your company sells a variety of products, make sure you know how to use/operate every single one of them. It might sound like a tall order — depending on how many products your company sells — but learning to use what your company sells will help you look at things with fresh eyes.
  17. When you think you’ve tested your product enough, test it some more. Never release a product until it has been tested and tested and tested by people who don’t work for you.
  18. Understand how social media networks work. When Twitter was first available for businesses, I’d see people use it like an ad in a newspaper. If you go on a channel and use it the wrong way, it could do more long-term harm than good.
  19. Save up. You can operate at a loss for a number of years but you can only run out of cash once. Have a rainy day fund that has at least two or three months’ operating costs in it. And have a line of credit available, even if you don’t plan to use it. Having a CPA look at your books once a quarter is also a must.
  20. Always let the CFO

#1. Sponsor a Local Children’s Sports Team or Sporting Event

There are good reasons for choosing to sponsor a children’s sports team:
  • You get bonus points for caring about the health of future generations
  • You earn the trust and loyalty of the local community
  • An Australian study has shown that 68% of children involved in sponsored sporting events recalled all their sponsors and nearly half recalled the sponsors of their favorite professional sports teams
Look into the local junior sports scene and offer to sponsor a team – you pay for some basic equipment, but you get great publicity and plenty of guaranteed brand recall.

#2. Do Some Charity Work

Another great way to draw some attention to your company, and do some actual good while you’re at it, is to get involved in a good cause. There are tons of great charities you can get involved with, and you can do it in a number of creative ways – from simply donating money to a non-profit organization, to sponsoring events and utilizing social media to grab people’s attention.
Pictures can say so much more than words, and raising awareness through high-quality pictures, some strategic social media posts and a few donations can make a huge difference, while improving your corporate image at the same time.

#3. Have Your Customers Do Some of the Marketing for You

People like to get involved in things like contests, particularly if it something fun and creative. You can take advantage of the basic human desires to try out new things and share their experiences with others, by throwing a contest that requires customers to do a bit of promotion for your brand.
The way you approach this will depend on your niche – e.g. if you sell musical instruments you can offer prizes like guitar lessons, gift cards or concert tickets to people who send in the funniest music-related picture where they can be seen wearing a t-shirt with your company logo. People get really excited about these things and the buzz they create can be quite significant. The younger generations place a whole lot more trust in user generated content than other forms of media.

#4. Educate the Public and Give Some Free Advice

An important fact of become the go-to option for your particular type of products and services is to establish yourself as an expert in the industry. If you have been in the business for a while, you’ll be able to provide the general public with some insights, and you can also give them a detailed overview of your products and services.
A lot of people only look for specific goods and services when they absolutely need them or have some money to spare, so a lot of them will need basic information on the subject in order to make an informed decision and spend their hard-earned money wisely. If you provide this information, e.g. on your website and blog, customers will flock to you.

#5. Offer Some Free Stuff

This is a very basic, old-school tactic that has been proven in the trenches, but many people still neglect it. You can’t afford to just give everything away, but you can have special rewards for loyal customers, organize giveaways, give people some free samples, offer some cool promotional materials organize free tastings and so on. You can get fairly creative with this, and get plenty of exposure with a reasonably low investment.

#6. Be what your preach

We all know that branding is a big piece of the marketing puzzle and that there can be many long term benefits for your company.
